Bath Community Singers
Easy to learn four part singing for everyone who loves to sing in delightful harmony
Four Part Harmony
Singing for the Joy of singing. Bath Community Singers is a local choir where the focus is singing for the sheer pleasure of it. We mainly sing in four part harmony, and always without sheet music. Songs are learnt, enjoyed, left and then revisited.
We sing for the love of it. We learn songs for ourselves and hearing ourselves. We're not a performance choir, so can relax and enjoy learning songs for ourselves. We are are a very open choir, with people of all standards. We regularly sing in the annual Choir Convention in Bristol and occasionally at other community choir days or personal celebrations. From time to time we make our own CDs, but apart from these events, we simply sing for the joy of doing so. Beginners and experienced singers are all equally welcome. No auditioning, or any other conditions exist about joining. You are free to drop in and just try us for an evening, although you get much more out of coming for the whole term.
In the main term (3 terms each of 10 weeks) we are lead through the 2 hour sessions by Nickomo Clarke. We sing songs from all over the world ~ Gospel, Harmonic Temple, Taizé, Contemporary, Pop, Jazz, Blues, Bulgarian
~ No need to audition or read music ~ Just come along and take part.
Nickomo is a musician, singer, composer and choir leader and has become particularly well known for his Harmonic Temple pieces. More details can be found at his website. Nickomo is a member of the Bath Natural Voice Practitioners Network.
